This calculator is separate from the Payday Super checker.

Enter the start date, the last day (or leave it blank for today) and the state. You'll see the weeks of long service leave accrued, the weeks you can take now, and any payout when employment ends.

Calculated from the figures you entered using Victorian long service leave rules. Check before you rely on it.

Weeks are shown to 4 decimal places. Dollar amounts are rounded to the cent.

How this is worked out
  1. Service from 1 March 2015 to 28 February 2026: 11 years, 0 months, 0 weeks, 0 days
  2. Weeks of service = 11 × 52 + 0 × 52 ÷ 12 + 0 + 0 ÷ 7 = 572 weeks
  3. Leave = 572 ÷ 60 = 9.5333 weeks
  4. Payout = 9.5333 weeks × $1,100.00 = $10,486.67 (gross, before tax)

Assumptions and sources

  • Victoria rules under the Long Service Leave Act 2018 (Vic), based on state government guidance (checked 23 October 2026).
  • Continuous service with one employer; enter weeks that do not count (for example, some unpaid leave) separately.
  • Weekly pay is the ordinary weekly pay at the time the leave is taken or employment ends – no overtime, no leave loading.
  • The value uses the ordinary weekly pay you enter. If your hours or pay vary, your state's Act may use an average over a longer period (for example, Victoria uses the highest of the 52-week, 5-year or full-employment average), so your actual amount may differ.
  • This doesn't cover workers whose long service leave comes from an award or enterprise agreement with its own terms, or from a portable long service leave scheme (such as construction, cleaning or community services).
  • Service counts from the first day to the last day inclusive.
  • Weeks of service follow the Victorian guide’s examples: years × 52, months as 52 ÷ 12 weeks. The guide rounds weeks of leave to 2 decimals; we keep 4.

Leaving with fewer than 10 years (NSW and Qld)

NSW, 5 to 10 years: paid pro-rata if the employer ends the employment for any reason other than serious and wilful misconduct, if the worker resigns because of illness, incapacity, or a domestic or other pressing necessity, or if the worker dies.

Queensland, 7 to 10 years: paid pro-rata only if the main reason is death, resigning because of illness or a domestic or other pressing necessity, dismissal because of illness, dismissal for a reason other than conduct, capacity or performance, or unfair dismissal.

Victorian example (from the Victorian guide)

Lissa resigns after 11 years. 11 × 52 = 572 weeks, and 572 ÷ 60 = 9.53 weeks. At $1,100 a week, the guide gives $10,483 (using 9.53 weeks). This calculator keeps more decimals, so it shows $10,486.67.

Other states

Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, the ACT and the Northern Territory are coming soon. Their rules haven't been checked against official sources yet, so this calculator doesn't estimate them.

Varied hours and casuals

If hours changed over time, ordinary pay is an average worked out under each Act. This calculator assumes fixed weekly pay.
